Jana Kukutschová

A professor of materials science at VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava and serves as the guarantor of the Nanotechnology study program. Her work primarily focuses on nanomaterials and their impact on the environment and human health.

Jana's research addresses emissions from non-combustion processes in transport, such as particles released into the environment through the wear of automotive brakes. She is also involved in developing more environmentally friendly brake materials. Jana has delivered several invited talks on these topics at conferences in the USA, France, and Germany.

Additionally, her research includes examining the risks associated with nanomaterials, particularly the presence of solid micro and nanoparticles in human tissues and body fluids. Recently, she has been involved in initiatives to prevent the risky use of titanium dioxide nanoparticles in kindergartens in the Moravian-Silesian region.
