The love / hate relationship I have with my brain

Marie Salomonová, Co-founder & CEO at Nevypusť duši talked to TEDxUNYP about her battle with mental health and how she is now focused on how the Czech society talks about it.

About the speaker

Marie studied Neuroscience at the University of Nottingham and spent a year in pre-clinical research at the Institute of Neuroimmunology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences developing animal models of Alzheimer's disease. For the past two years, however, her greatest passion has been a small non-profit Nevypusť Duši, which she has co-founded and is currently managing. Working with a team of enthusiasts coming mainly from psychology/neuroscience backgrounds, they have started a campaign, first of its kind in the Czech Republic, focused on spreading awareness and educating the Czech public about mental health care. One of their aims is to bring mental health education to Czech schools. They spread facts, debunk myths and raise awareness about mental health and disease.
